Tempted to blog but what shall i blog?

I have no idea why i became so random and started checking and reading my old blog post. Really getting old man… haha… so fast start looking at the past….

Recently really busy at work, well as you know better busy then to slack right? Hmmm really makes a big difference how when i was still in S, so much free time to surf and still meet the various deadlines, but now in D everything is so tightly packed that its really stress. Writing it out is good to leave a mark to indicate i was busy in the year 2012 accomplishing lots of work

Fate of this blog shall be decided soon, to continue or not to continue, recently the (Kopi Kaki – 1) had a chat about how we want to get a domain and hosting to blog about stuff, maybe that would be a good direction to go? Hmmm we shall see, maybe getting your own site isnt that bad after all?

2nd Conversation with Japanese… Got Improvements ^_^

2nd time wasnt as funny as the first one.. but still shows how.. i still cannot communicate fully with a japanese… haha…much to learn… Gambatte!!!!

Reached Osaka airport, we have to meet the taxi driver driving us to the hotel in Wakayama. So i saw the guy with the sign and i went towards him and said:

Me: Hi, Mr XXX San?

Driver: Hai, *Something else in Japanese * and points to the name on his board.

Me: I nod and said … Ya… Me Minghui *Doh!!! i felt so much like caveman sia…… * (Inner OS: I practiced so many times liao lor… gan jiong then forgot.. bokuwa… Minghui- desu… Kombawa… T_T)

Me: Still practicing said… Ima hoteru ikimashita? (are we going to the hotel now?) and points to the name of the hotel on the paper i had and say . Koko ni….
See.. got a little bit improvement right.. but i still dun understand what they are saying.. too fast le

P.S. i dun like the currency sia.. too many coins….. >.< now my wallet fat fat full of 1 yen, 5, 10 yen

My First Japanese conversation in Japan ^_^

Hehe…. After flying 14 hours of flight (3 connecting flight) i ended up in Kagoshima , southern part of japan… hmmm then i checked into the Kagoshima Airport hotel… and i had my first japanese conversation with a japanese guest just now /….. though it wasnt that successful.. haha .. Here was how it went..
Japanese Guy: Harlow, You Taiwanese?

Me: *Proudly proclaims* iie, watashiwa singapuru jin desu

Japanese Guy: Oh… *start speaking in fast japaneses*

Me: (-_-”) *Stunned Face*

Me: Eh…. Me Nihongo not that good.

Me: Eigo ga hanasemasuka?

Japanese Guy: Oh.. a little bit…

haha… then we chat a bit before i reached my floor…

So Malu… haha.. at least i tried my best… ^_^

Trip to Spain

Yupx, went to spain last week for some work, it was some annual meeting that we have, which is really coolz, as we get to see some examples of products that our company sells and how it is operating. Plus, it is really good to meet up with fellow colleagues from all around the world and to share our comments on how we can improve the process. well… spain was pretty much like singapore… except,

1) There is not much clouds in the sky, which is really hot

2) There is lesser humidity level, but coupled with the hot temp, you still do sweat fairly easy

3) The people there dun speak much english, so spanish is a good to have if u are traveling there.

4) The people typically have lunch at 2pm and dinner at 8pm…

So…they usually have heavy lunch follow by light dinner.. haha.. to show how light it was. Please refer to the pictures below… Roy would have been proud.

haha… that was for 1st night when i stayed with one of my colleague at his place in madrid… haha… then the 2nd night was something similar… it made me realised that actually eating fruits can be quite filling sia… haha

But of course… After i came back to singapore.. i cant resist the temptation and went ahead with a thai dinner… at one of the thai place near Kovan, which i have been wanting to try… haha u can see the pics above… direct comparison with the healthy food… haha…. if i stay long term in madrid.. i think i might slim down… haha

Installing Android 2.1 (Eclair) on Samsung Jet?

For those who know i am using Samsung Jet, know that i am not happy with that phone, its not as responsive compared to other touchscreen phones (newer ones like HTC and iphone), though at the time it was released everyone tot that it was coolz to own a “smartphone” but technically speaking it isnt really that smart at all.

1)when u try to get more widgets, u get an error for not having internal memory to do so.

2)Samsung actually started a developer area for that to develop the widgets and apps for samsung jet, but then as soon as Omnia 2, they switched focus and abandoned Jet.

Basically the camera is the only not bad thing. But too bad i am stuck with it and as u can see the price of that phone is dropping. So enough with my complaining.. i started thinking how nice it would be if you can install android on the samsung jet phone? Coolz right? Impossible? Think again. There exist powerful programmers in the world… and to prove that… take a look at this google group started by this guy called Dopi.

Haha… see i am not crazy after all.

But alot of functions are not usable yet. If only samsung ppl take note of this group and help the millions(assumed amount) of UNHAPPY jet users make this project happy man. then i would be really really happy… hehe

DIY Desktop Specs

I did mention a couple of months back that i want to build my own desktop. So after months of research… hehe…. finally came up with something of what i wanted that suited my budget… haha alot say <$1k + Monitor is not possible… haha but then if u really look around, i think 500 bucks for a decent computer is definitely possible. But i is abit greedy and i do not think i will upgrade that long after this one, since my old desktop( which i think is spoilt) lasted me about 8-9 years. haha… at that time it wasnt really the fastest.. if i remember correctly the specs is something like this

Old Desktop:

P4 2.4 Ghz

Asrock Motherboard

512mb DDR 400 ram

10gb Quantum Fireball hard disk (which i changed to a 40gb one after a few years and finally a 500gb one about last year or the year before)

Geforce Fx5200 (cant remember the brand)

If i remember correctly cost me about 700-800??? cant remember.

Now the new desktop that i am looking at looks like this

Athlon X4 640(CPU) (Quad Core)

Gigabyte 880GA-UD3H (Motherboard) (With USB 3.0 and SATA  – Price with CPU = $331

XFX HD 5670 (GPU) 512mb GDDR5 = $146 (Dunno should upgrade to HD5750 or HD5770 or not (215/265 respectively)

Cooler Master TX3 (HSF) = $35

Total: $1251 (Hmmm i realised that i forgot to include OS and Ram just now in my head de calculation) haha.. i guess back to the drawing board…

Maybe at the year end the price will do, since newer parts are coming out.. we shall see But those who wants a decent gaming PC can just swap the graphics card to a HD5850 or a GT460 to have a decent gaming experience.
